Who we are
We are Ecospot Ltd, a company based in London. You can contact us by emailing us at team@ecospot.io.

EcoSpot is a community platform for climate action. Your school will set up a space that only students and staff members at your school can access. The platform is available on the web or via an iOS app. Using EcoSpot, your school will be able to take part in green challenges that help you live more sustainably. You'll be able to track the positive impact your school is having on the planet and be able to compete to take the most action amongst your peers.

About this Privacy Notice
If you use EcoSpot, this notice will explain you what personal information about you we collect, how we use it and why. It will also tell you what rights you have. The information provided in this Privacy Notice for Students has been written to be understandable for students, if you would like to learn more you can read our full Privacy Policy.
Personal data means information about you that can identify you.

How we use your information
Under data protection laws, we can only use your personal data if we have a proper reason for doing so.
For example:
• you agreed for us to use your personal data; or
• it is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligation to you, or to fulfil our legal obligation, or for our legitimate interests.

When you create your EcoSpot Account
We use:
your username
school email
password
school name
year group

to provide EcoSpot to you and keep your information secure, for example, to:
run your account;
allow you to make use of EcoSpot's features;
correctly protect your privacy, tell you about change to our rules or services; and keep your information and our website secure,

because it is necessary:
to fulfil our obligation under our Terms of Use or to fulfil our legal obligation.

When you take part in challenges from your EcoSpot account:
We use: the photos and captions you create and upload

to provide EcoSpot to you, for example, to:
allow you to make use of EcoSpot's features; and
understand how EcoSpot is used, what does and doesn’t work, what can be improved,

because it is necessary:
to fulfil our obligation under our Terms of Use; or for our legitimate interests.

When you agree to receive our marketing communication
We use your contact details
your school email

to provide you with information which may be of interest to you, for example, to:
send you messages about our content and services (for example, team winner of the week, bonus challenges)
if you agree to that.

How to delete my account
If we use your personal information because you agreed to that, you can always change your mind. You can change your preferences by emailing us at team@ecospot.io

Who can see your information
Other students and staff members at school that are using the EcoSpot platform will be able to see photos you upload to challenges, your username and the avatar you select. They will not be able to see your name or any other personal information about you.

Your rights
Because this is your personal data, you (or your parent or guardian) can ask us:
How and why we use your information
to send you a copy of information we hold about you
to send a copy of information you gave us to another organisation
to correct and incorrect information
to stop using your information
to stop sending you information

Sometimes we may have to refuse to fulfil your request or will only be able to fulfil it in part. But we would only do that if necessary and lawful.
