Eating out has a higher carbon footprint because of the restaurant/cafe’s cooking, heating and lighting emissions needed to prepare your food. Takeaway requires packaging and transportation that adds to carbon emissions.
For this question include any time spent in a car for personal use, including commuting and time spent in taxis or hired cars. You shouldn’t include car journeys for business trips as these are part of your employer’s carbon footprint.
